Our year 6 children went on an exciting trip to Yorkshire Wildlife – they were treated to a wide array of animals, including the only polar bears in the UK, painted dogs (related to the hyena), lions and tigers, giraffes, wallabies, lemurs and armadillos. They learnt about animal groups and classification and had an opportunity to touch ostrich feathers, camel hair, as well as snake and lizard skins after they shed. Pupils also had the chance to hold a live hissing cockroach and stroke a very friendly cornsnake.
Many thanks to our parent volunteers who accompanied us on the trip. Everyone had an enjoyable day.
