Academy day

In This Section

The academy day starts at 8.45am and pupils have six classroom sessions during the day. There is a morning break and a staggered lunchtime to ensure all pupils are able to eat in comfort and with friends from their year group. The day ends at 3.10pm for lower school pupils and 3.15pm for upper school pupils, or 4.15pm if they are attending one of our free extra-curricular clubs.

8.45am – academy day begins

Playground gates open from 8.30am

10.30-10.45am – break time

There are two playgrounds at the academy and two large fields that have plenty of use throughout the year. All playtimes are supervised by academy staff and we encourage wet and messy play as an important part of the social and physical development of your child.

12-1pm – lunch time

Children can either choose from the academy menu or bring a healthy packed lunch. As well as two main meal options (one vegetarian), a salad and deli bar is available daily.

Meals are paid for in advance and we use a cashless system for meal payments, called sQuid. A registration letter and document on how to access this are available from the academy office. Your child may be eligible for free school meals, please enquire at the academy office for further details.

A wide range of playground games are played during lunch time and we have a good team of midday supervisors to ensure all children are safe and happy.

3.10-3.15pm – home time

Children attend a themed assembly at the end of each day and are then seen out by staff at 3.10pm (lower school) and 3.15pm (upper school). If they are attending an after school club, they will leave at 4.15pm.
