Every week your child will receive homework to support their journey in class. The homework is set to suit both their age and individual ability. Homework will be related to in-class learning – so children should be familiar with the tasks that they are set and they are encouraged to share and talk about their homework with their parents or carers.
The following is an overview of the amount of homework children will receive:
- years 1 and 2: 1 hour per week
- years 3 and 4: 1.5 hours per week
- years 5 and 6: 30 minutes per day
Nursery and reception will have their reading book and phonics practise each week. Reception begin more focused homework in the spring term.
Home learning agreement
When your child joins the academy you will be asked to agree to our home and school agreement. This is a document which highlights and promises the responsibilities and support that will be expected from both the academy and parents. This agreement is essential in helping staff and parents work as a team for the benefit of every child at Tuxford Primary Academy.
