We are thrilled to announce that Tuxford Primary Academy has earned the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
This year, we have significantly expanded our out-of-school activities through school games and strengthened our partnerships within the community, notably with Tuxford Academy. Pupils attended a wider variety of sporting events and competitions including cross country and team games. Our year 5 children achieved Bikeability road safety awareness certification at both level 1 and level 2, cycling safely and confidently on local roads. We held exciting experience days for new sports such as glow in the dark dodgeball, which encouraged participation and fun. Our year 6 pupils received training as sports leaders and now lead engaging physical activities during lunchtime breaks, building confidence and teamwork.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to every staff member at Tuxford Primary Academy who has devoted their time and effort to providing these wonderful opportunities for our pupils. Your dedication has made this achievement possible.
