Today was Takeover Day at Tuxford Primary Academy.

Takeover Day is an important day in our academy calendar as it supports our Rights Respecting mark, Investors in Pupils status and aspirations project.

Staff were inundated with applications to take over the thirty adult positions available, the quality of all the job applications made each decision a difficult one. It was a fun and exciting day for everyone here at the academy and the children showed levels of maturity and responsibility that wowed us all.

Takeover Day is a day created by the Children’s Commissioner. Promoting and protecting children’s rights to make life better for children and young people in England.

The day puts children and young people into decision-making positions and encourages organisations and businesses to hear their views. Children gain an insight into the adult world and organisations benefit from a fresh perspective about their work.
