Tuxford Primary Academy is celebrating May Day on Wednesday 1st May.
In collaboration with Tuxford Town Council, Tuxford Primary Academy will be inviting some of Tuxford’s senior residents to step back in time with us, enjoying dances around the Maypole, traditional country dancing, majorettes performances and much more.
We have uncovered a number of historical photos of past May Day celebrations held at Tuxford Primary and we would be delighted to share these with our pupils and the community at this event.
To add to the day’s festivities we would like to ask all children to attend dressed in their May Day best, this could be a smart outfit from the present or the past, dressing as a child from a bygone era.
