Chicks hatch in Year 2

The chicks have finally started to arrive in Year 2! We now have two strong, healthy chicks.

Yesterday our first chick hatched. Everyone was very excited to meet him and watch him stumble around the incubator. He even started to peck the other eggs to try and wake them up. He has been named Ernie.

We arrived this morning to find that another chick had hatched over night. He has been named Pecky.

Ernie is now settled into his cage with his new heat pad, whilst Pecky is still drying off in the incubator.

Year 2 have done a great job getting their pen ready with sawdust, food and water and were rewarded with a little cuddle with Ernie.

We are hoping to see some more chicks hatch over the next few hours!
