We were delighted to be able to share our love of reading as an academy today for World Book Day, with pupils and staff sharing their favourite stories and embracing the world of literacy.

Pupils voted for class themes in which to dress up for the day, which ranged from nursery rhymes and Roald Dahl stories to famous London landmarks and World War Two. They had the opportunity to take part in book-themed activities throughout the day.

Pupils were given a book token which they will be able to exchange for a book with their parents or carers, so that they can continue their enjoyment of reading past World Book Day.

Thank you to the staff, pupils, parents and carers who all worked hard to make this year’s World Book Day a success. We hope that our children will continue to embrace reading throughout the year, both at school and at home.
