The last term has been incredibly egg-citing at Tuxford Primary Academy!
Our Year 2 pupils have been caring for and monitoring eggs in an incubator for a few weeks, watching and waiting to see if there are any signs of chicks.
Some of the eggs fertilised and the pupils regularly checked the eggs to see the chicks development. On day 7 they could see the blood vessels starting to form and on day 18 air bubbles at the bottom of the eggs could seen by using a torch.
Perfectly timed just before the Easter break, 14 chicks hatched and the pupils were able to observe them hatching and also managed to hold them once they were dry.
