Our fantastic on-site nursery in Tuxford, Nottinghamshire, focuses on giving all children a head start in their educational journey, nurturing creative minds with a focus on discovery, investigation and exploration through play.

At Tuxford Primary Academy nursery, your child will thrive in a warm and welcoming school setting that offers excellent facilities and a safe environment to explore. Each day is carefully planned to provide a wide range of fun, engaging and educational activities that help children play, learn and grow with confidence.
Indoor facilities
Our nursery has its own designated indoor space, thoughtfully divided into areas that promote different aspects of learning and play, including:
- Reading area – A quiet and inviting space where children can explore books and develop a love for storytelling.
- Domestic role play – Encourages role-play and imaginative play, fostering communication and social skills.
- Sand and water area – Provides sensory play opportunities that support early problem-solving and fine motor skills.
- Construction area – A creative space for building, teamwork and spatial awareness.
- Creative area – Encourages self-expression through painting, drawing and creative projects.
- Maths area – A hands-on space where children use natural resources to explore number and pattern.
- Science area – A dedicated area for exploring scientific concepts through play and discovery.
- Dough play – Enhances creativity, imagination and develops fine motor skills.
Outdoor facilities
We share a newly refurbished outdoor area with reception class, helping children develop important gross motor skills while also building teamwork, resilience and early problem-solving through active play.
Our outdoor facilities include:
- Large construction area – Encouraging problem-solving and teamwork through hands-on construction activities.
- Road with bikes and trikes – Supports gross motor development and creative role-play as well as road safety awareness.
- Climbing and balancing equipment – Supports sequencing, coordination and physical confidence.
- Den building facilities – Encourages creativity, teamwork and problem-solving.
- Mud kitchen – A fun, hands-on space for imaginative play and sensory experiences.
- Large water play – Problem solving and developing gross motor skills.
- Sports equipment – To invent games and activities with friends.

Up to 30 hours FREE childcare places available
Families may be eligible for 15 or 30 hours free childcare which can be spread across morning, afternoon or full day spaces.
Free fruit and milk for children under 5
