Personal development is central to all we do, and through the curriculum, pupils gain core skills such as working with others, investigating problems, predicting, making choices, organising and taking responsibility for their work. In key stage 1, children cover the breadth of the curriculum and also learn Spanish from year 1. In key stage 2, pupils will move from class to class for their subject specialisms – ensuring that all pupils are taught key subjects by experts.
In upper key stage 2, our children are ready to transition to secondary as they advantage from our specialist teachers. Tuxford Primary Academy pupils are taught by subject experts who provide challenge, resources and precise teaching to every child.
During lunchtime, the children are supervised by trained midday supervisors who are qualified in paediatric first aid and hold play leader qualifications. Prefects assist children in the lunch hall and take responsibility for leading a lunchtime activity such as table tennis, assault course, netball, football, ring games and French skipping.
