On Monday 5th March, Tuxford Primary Academy’s dance club took part in the regional heats of The Great Big Dance Off competition at the Royal Albert Hall in Nottingham.

The Great Big Dance Off is a popular national dance competition open to schools all across England & Wales. This is the only national dance competition aimed solely at schools. The aim is to create an exciting competition bringing together children of all ages and abilities where the emphasis is on having a good time, which our children definitely did.

Our theme was Michael Jackson, our pupils looked and felt amazing in their outfits, donning a trilby hat and a sparkly glove. Unfortunately they did not moon walk their way into the final this year but the experience of competing at this level was amazing and a great achievement having already been through the video rounds to get to this stage…they overcame nerves and wowed spectators with their dance spectacular.

A special thank you to Miss Williams for the choreography and teaching, parents for supporting us and the PFA for purchasing our amazing costumes.

Well done to everyone involved, we are a very proud academy.
